P_ARTE” is the name of a new cultural project by the real estate developer Adriparte.

“Muitos Anos a Virar Frangos”, curated by SUPERFICIAL, launches a pop-up

contemporary art gallery at the Alure development, celebrating both contemporary art

and Portuguese tradition.

Adriparte is a boutique real estate developer whose mission is to place culture at the heart of

the urban experience. In a move which sees Adriparte establishing itself as an art-focussed

developer, Muitos Anos a Virar Frangos is a group art show at the intersection of tradition

and contemporaneity. Curated by SUPERFICIAL, a culture and art agency, the pop-up

gallery opens this July in a retail unit at the Alure development on 52 Rua de São Paulo,

Lisbon.

Inspired by the popular Portuguese idiom meaning ‘many years turning chickens’, Muitos

Anos a Virar Frangos pays tribute to persistence, craftsmanship, and the know-how passed

down through generations. The exhibition brings together Portuguese artists and artists

who’ve made Portugal their home in recent years, who reinterpret traditional techniques and

materials, offering a contemporary take on Portugal’s material heritage.

Each responding to traditional Portuguese craft through their own contemporary artistic

practice, artists exhibited include Maria Luz, Henriette Arcelin, Mariana Espadaneira, Marta

Colombo Cypel, Maria Bezuglaya, Eva Lé, Maria Norton, Leonor Neves, Diana Cerezino,

Gonçalo Regalado, Jéssica Ilfu-Soi, Tim Ralston, Luzia Alves and contemporary design

studio MACHEIA. There will also be some fine art prints in the pop-up by Contemplate.

With Muitos Anos a Virar Frangos, Adriparte has chosen to partner with SUPERFICIAL, to

curatorially place materiality at its core. The works on show challenge the public’s perception

of tradition and innovation, revealing new ways to engage with what is familiar through tactile

memory, texture, and the emotion embedded in the handmade gesture.

More than an art show, this pop-up gallery marks the beginning of a broader cultural

placemaking strategy spearheaded by Adriparte through the P_ARTE project. By opening its

doors to the public and future residents with an ambitious cultural programme, Adriparte

positions itself as a new kind of developer: one that sees culture as a driver of identity,

sophistication, and belonging. By celebrating Portuguese art in the heart of Lisbon, it aims to

create an aura of high-end culture that is not imposed, but shared - sensory, authentic, and

deeply rooted. This exhibition marks the beginning of new opportunities for artists within

Adriparte’s real estate portfolio.

The exhibition is free to attend and will be open to the public from 4 July to 30 August.

52 Rua de São Paulo, Lisbon.
